In our latest update, we’re thrilled to share some groundbreaking progress on the development of the Office Walker. This time, the focus was on noise reduction and enhancing the smoothness of the walking experience. Get ready to check out what the new prototype has in store!
Reducing Noise Levels
One of the most significant improvements in the latest prototype is the reduction in noise levels. During testing, the prototype recorded minimal noise, ranging from 30 to 40 decibels at slower speeds and 50 to 60 decibels when walking at a slightly brisker pace of about 3 km/h. This marks a considerable advancement from previous versions, promising a quieter office environment even when in use.
Smooth and Steady Walking Experience
A key highlight of this update is the smooth walking experience. Gone are the days of any jerkiness or sudden stops, making it easier and more comfortable to walk while working at your desk. However, a clacking noise still occasionally occurs due to some empty space in the track, which causes the bearings to hit the top from time to time. Resolving this will be a part of future development efforts.
Next Steps: Testing for Durability
The next step in our journey is crucial: testing the durability of the walking pad by integrating it into daily work routines. I’ll be using the Office Walker at my desk to better understand its performance and identify any areas needing improvement. This phase is essential to making sure the manual walking pad can withstand regular usage and is production-ready.
