Quiet and Smooth: Major Progress with Office Walker Prototype v3

We’re excited to share that all the parts for our latest prototype of the Office Walker have arrived, and the assembly was a success! This third version marks significant progress, especially in terms of noise reduction and overall performance. Check out the latest update:

A Quieter, Smoother Experience

The new design is impressively quiet, with minimal clacking sounds compared to previous iterations. It’s on the same noise-level as a high-quality electric walking pad. Just that those become usually louder over time. The smooth, jerk-free walking experience is a big win for us. There’s still a slight noise from the new belt, but we’re confident it’s something we can refine further.

Jogging Test

An exciting development with version 3 is that it supports jogging. This makes the Office Walker not just a tool for walking but also for a light workout right in your office space.

Design and Finish

We’ve put some love into the look and durability of this prototype. Featuring Danish oil, the finish is both sleek and sturdy. Thanks to the new design of the side elements, this version boasts improved stability—no more cracking issues as seen in the last prototype.

Final Thoughts

Overall, I’m thrilled with how this version turned out. Its functionality and aesthetic improvements are steps in the right direction, and I look forward to hearing your feedback.

    • You should see it under the “Join the Waitlist” headline. It’s also at the top of the home page. But maybe you need to deactivate an ad blocker or so?

    • We’re planning a step and distance tracker as it’s often requested. But I can’t say when that would be released. I think it’s an important add on though as I’d love to keep track of my steps as well.

  1. What is the load capacity of your walker? Could not find this information. Apologies, if I overlooked something. Thank you 🙂

    • No worries, I don’t think it’s mentioned anywhere. We’re aiming at 150kg. That’s the basis for all our calculations during the design. But we still have to verify that in labroratory tests.

  2. Is there any estimate on when the first units will ship? I’d like to hold off on replacing my dead flexispot, but if it will be more than a few months I’m not sure I want to go without that long, especially headed towards winter.

  3. Do you have a video with this newer version to see how much quieter it is? What is the actual noise level now? Can this be used on a carpeted floor? I’m wondering if the sound would carry to whoever is below on a different floor, as in an apartment building. How much does this weigh?

    • Thanks for your comment. I’m not sure if I understand though. There should be a video at the top of the page. Here you can see it on YouTube: https://youtube.com/shorts/4pDHtDXpBWk

The noise level is currently at 35-45dB at walking speed. It can be used on low pile carpet. If it has longer hair I’d recommend a fitness mat or so underneath the walking pad.

We tested in out apartment if the sound carries over: it does not even though many other sounds do carry over. But we haven’t tested it in other apartments yet. I’m pretty certain that the noise of the walking pad wouldn’t carry over though, rather the thumping walking sound depending on your technique. But because of the curved surface I think there tends to be less thumping compared to flat walking pads.

The weight is around 25kg at the moment. The underside can be seen on our Kickstarter page (see the section “Compact and Easy to Store”): https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/981825764/office-walker-the-manual-walking-pad-for-your-office

I hope that helps. Let me know if you have further questions

  4. Could not find information about the dimensions of the walking area of the Office Walker in comparison to the Walkolution 2.
