Kuipers K1 After 9 Months – Louder Operation and Noticeable Odor

At first glance, the Kuipers K1 walking pad looks impressive:

  • The wood-style design stands out from lower-priced models.
  • At around €400, it belongs to the mid- to upper-price range.
  • Customer reviews are mostly positive, especially regarding its quiet operation.

However, most reviews appear shortly after purchase. Long-term experiences are harder to find.

I’ve used the K1 regularly for several months and would like to share my personal impressions.

Summary: Initial Satisfaction With Some Concerns

In the beginning, I was very satisfied with the Kuipers K1 – it ran quietly, looked good, and felt solid.

After around nine months of daily use, however, my experience changed. The device became noticeably louder, and occasionally a faint heated smell from the motor area appeared, which made me cautious.

Given the price, I expected more long-term durability, especially with intensive use.

Kuipers K1: Detailed Review

The Kuipers K1 was the third walking pad I tested over an extended period.

I chose this model because several online reviews highlighted its low noise level – a feature that was particularly important to me for home office use.

Previously, I had used a walking pad from another brand that worked well overall but became noticeably louder over time. For that reason, I started looking for a quieter alternative.

My initial impression of the Kuipers K1 was positive: it ran quietly and its wood-like design gave it a premium appearance – almost like a piece of furniture that fits naturally into a home office.

But as time went on, a few aspects changed my perception of the device.

Kuipers K1: Build and Materials

The treadmill is not made from solid wood but features a decorative wood finish. After some time, small signs of wear appeared at the edges.

Kuipers K1: Noise Level Over Time

Initially very quiet, the noise level increased after several months. With windows open, I found the sound somewhat distracting. I used the treadmill for several hours daily, which certainly contributed to the wear.

Note: The following video shows the Kuipers K1 after several months of private use. It is a personal recording without any audio editing or comparative testing. The video is intended solely to illustrate my own experience with the device. Perceived noise levels may vary depending on the recording device, room acoustics, and environment.

Kuipers K1: Smell During Use

After longer sessions, I noticed a faint smell of heated components, likely from the motor area. I stopped using the device as a precaution. It’s unclear whether this was an isolated issue or normal wear and tear.

Comparison and Takeaway

Over the years, I’ve tried various electric walking pads. With intensive use, similar issues such as noise and maintenance requirements often arose.

This led me to explore an alternative approach: a manual, motor-free walking pad designed for quiet and durable use.

Conclusion

The Kuipers K1 is visually appealing and performs well at first. In my case, however, noise and odor increased noticeably over time with heavy use.

Whether this is typical or user-dependent remains uncertain. For light to moderate use, the K1 can still be a reasonable choice.
